We are so excited about this one! Rarely does a new daffodil introduction take our breath away, but Narcissus Polar Hunter has so much to offer. This variety is new to the Canadian market and was introduced in 2020. It is a cross between a fall-flowering Narcissus viridiflorus and a spring-blooming fragrant jonquilla daffodil. Polar Hunter blooms emerge between February and March – sometimes even earlier than snowdrops. Each 30 cm (14”) stem produces up to four blooms that start off green and then mature to a minty-white colour. What is even more fascinating about this variety is that the leaves materialize after the blooming period. It is worth noting that climate does affect the colour of the blooms with warmer temperatures bringing out the deeper green hues and cooler temperatures bringing out a paler yellow/green tone.
