Canadian Liberator

Canadian Liberator is a stunning red tulip that is being used to create awareness and remembrance of a very important moment in history. In 1945, Canadian forces were an integral part of the liberation of Europe at the end of World War II, and spring 2020 marks 75 years since the end of WWII. It is important that the sacrifices of many men, women, and families are acknowledged and remembered.

Canadians across the nation are working towards creating a visual memorial. Through the sale and planting of the Canadian Liberator tulip, we will be raising awareness and paying respect to the many who contributed to lasting peace in Europe. The goal is to have as many Canadian Liberator tulips planted this fall from coast to coast, to create a striking visual display in spring 2020.

By planting the iconic Dutch tulip in the fall of 2019, the Canadian Liberator tulip will bloom into a gorgeous memorial of red across Canada in the Spring of 2020 just in time for the 75th anniversary of European liberation. For more information, please visit dutchcanada2020.com

Faces to Graves

In collaboration with the 75th anniversary of European liberation is the Faces to Graves initiative. Since Canada was so very integral in liberating specifically Holland, there remains a special bond between the two countries that can never be broken. The Dutch people in the Netherlands want to pay tribute to the fallen Canadian soldiers and military personnel who lost their lives and never made it home to Canada. Faces to Graves is searching for stories, photos, and information about Canadians buried at the Croesbeek, Holten and Bergen op Zoon, Canadian War Cemeteries in Holland. Please visit facestograves.nl to assist in completing the stories of the fallen soldiers.
